Tom Corson & Peter Edge: The 2015 Billboard Power 100
NO. 31

Tom Corson & Peter Edge

Corson: 54, President/COO, RCA Music Group

Edge: 53, CEO, RCA Music Group

Last year's rank: 21

For Edge and Corson, it was a mixed year: RCA's market share slipped from 7.3 percent to 6 percent, dropping from the No. 3 ranking to No. 6. But the label established itself as an artist's haven with unique projects from Sia (who delivered buzzy TV performances while refusing to show her face) and D'Angelo (who released his first album in 14 years). Add to that a No. 1 album from "Weird Al" Yankovic, a Hot 100 No. 1 for Magic's "Rude," a No. 1 R&B/hip-hop album from G-Eazy and a Christmas collection from Pentatonix that quickly became the fourth best-seller of 2014 (1.2 million), and you have a well-rounded operation reaching a wide range of audiences.

HARDEST BUSINESS LESSON LEARNED: "You can't make artists something that they're not." -- Edge

"Patience is something I work on all the time." -- Corson
