The Buenos Aires-born Verde oversees more than 500 artists and 600 employees in 22 countries. He watched his division's U.S. album market share rise from 30 to 34 percent for the genre, making Sony the leader in Latin music. But Verde says his biggest thrill of 2014 was Romeo Santos' two sold-out Yankee Stadium shows. A guitarist and Latin Grammy-winning producer (for Fito Paez's 2009 No Se Si Es Baires o Madrid), Verde now marvels at "having gone to 'the other side' and doing good by both artists and label."
