Ed Christman

Ed Christman began his career working in record stores on Steinway Street in Astoria, Queens: Record Scene, Record Spectacular, and Sound City in the 1970s and 1980s, and he also worked for Win Records, a music wholesaler. He graduated from Baruch College, where he majored in journalism with a business specialization, beginning his journalism career at Pensions & Investment Age magazine, first as an editorial assistant and then as a reporter. After a stint at Shopping Centers Today magazine, he joined Billboard as associate editor of retail several decades ago. Now a senior analyst and editor for Billboard, he covers music publishing, financial music-business news and economics.
