Kendrick Lamar rocked the Coachella stage all by himself during his Sunday night (Apr. 23) headlining set on the second weekend of Coachella. Other highlights from the final night of the 2017 fest included composer Hans Zimmer wowing the crowd with his movie score highlights and French electronic duo Justice lighting up the night.
Most of the artists on the bill at Coachella are there to promote something -- an album, an upcoming tour, a reunion show. But Richie Hawtin, the techno DJ, may have the most interesting promotional story on the field.
Every band on the Coachella field has some sort of story -- but none has a story like Dudu Tassa and the Kuwaitis, the Israeli group that opened the festival both weekends this year and has been primary support on Radiohead's spring tour of the U.S.
Unsurprisingly, the set this weekend was far more smooth -- and the same can be said for the fest overall, which, per usual, felt slightly older, slightly more organized, and slightly more music-forward as the second weekend got underway.
