Johnny Sigal is a Latin pop/rock artist from Venezuela who made his solo recording debut in 2008. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, he cites pioneering Latin alternative rock bands Soda Stereo and La Ley (of Argentina and Chile, respectively) among his greatest influences. After appearing in a successful Spanish-language adaptation of Jesus Christ Superstar, Sigal was offered a recording contract with EMI Latin and proceeded to make his full-length solo album debut, Johnny Sigal (2008), in collaboration with veteran producer Marcello Azevedo, who is known for his work with Latin pop superstars Chayanne, Paulina Rubio, and Thalía, among others. Featuring songs written by Azevedo, César Lemos, and Estéfano, along with a couple by Sigal himself, the self-titled album spawned the hit singles "Quedo en Nada" and "Cuando Te Perdí." ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
