'Hit the Quan' Rapper iLoveMemphis Signs With RECORDS Label

iLoveMemphis, the rapper/creator behind the breakout hit and viral dance craze “Hit the Quan,” has signed with independent label RECORDS in association with Palm Tree Entertainment and Rush Hour Entertainment. Coming off a performance of the song during Tuesday night’s BET Hip Hop Awards, the newcomer (formerly iHeartMemphis) rises 17-15 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.

To date, “Hit the Quan” has sold 336,000 singles, according to Nielsen Music. On the video front, the song has racked up more than 100 million combined YouTube views. The official music video will premiere in the coming weeks. iLoveMemphis is currently on the road with his "Hit the Quan" tour. Upcoming stops include hometown Memphis (Oct. 16 with Silento), Denver (Oct. 23) and Little Rock, Ark. (Nov. 14).

Announced earlier this year, RECORDS is a partnership between veteran music industry chief executive Barry Weiss (Island/Def Jam, Jive/Zomba) and SONGS Music Publishing.

The RECORDS roster also includes Nelly. His latest single, “The Fix” featuring Jeremih, was produced by DJ Mustard and Mike Free. In addition to DJ Mustard, SONGS is home to artist/songwriters The Weeknd, Diplo and Lorde.
