Jennifer Hudson also stars in short film directed by Paul Hunter and produced by Denzel Washington
Shame, a short film starring Tyrese Gibson and Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson, will stage its world premiere at the 19th annual Urbanworld Film Festival in New York. Gibson will also serve as ambassador for the five-day multicultural cinema showcase (Sept. 23-27), presented by BET Networks with founding sponsor HBO.
Written by Gibson, directed by Paul Hunter and produced by Academy Award winner Denzel Washington, Shame chronicles the story of up-and-coming soul singer Lionel Jacobs (Gibson). Married to his background singer Bobbi Ann (Hudson), Jacobs tries to pursue his career dreams while battling drugs and alcohol on one hand and fighting to take care of his wife and children on the other. A conversation with Gibson will follow after the Sept. 26 screening.
