Jet, "She's A Genius"
With its third studio album, "Shaka Rock," Melbourne rockers Jet return with the same swagger that put the band on the map in 2003. The album's lead single "She's a Genius" -- which went to radio June 22 at Active, Heritage and Mainstream Rock -- is reminiscent of catchy hits "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and "Cold Hard Bitch." "She's a Genius" is soft in subject matter (Cester revealed the track is "about a girl who does things that just take it to the next level in your mind"), yet maintains a heavier guitar-driven sound set against Nic's raucous vocals. "Get Born" sold 1.66 million in the US alone, and it remains to be seen whether the band can recapture its early success with its new effort. "Shaka Rock" drops Aug. 25 on Jet's newly created label, Real Horrorshow Records, through Five Seven Music. --Kristina Tunzi
