Welcome to Billboard's weekly video show "Real-Time Rewind," which recaps the past week's hottest action on the new Billboard Real-Time Twitter Charts -- Trending 140 and Emerging Artists -- and the news that's driving the action. Hosted by Billboard's Joe Levy, you can watch episode 13, which features 5 Seconds of Summer, Miley Cyrus and Beyoncé.
So what was happening on the Real-Time Charts this week?
5SOS dominated the Trending 140 chart during the MTV VMAs on Sunday, Aug. 24. Their song "Amnesia" showed up at No. 2 at 7 pm EST, and stayed at No. 1 for most of the night.
The most tweeted moment of the MTV VMA's was Miley Cyrus' win for Video of the Year ("Wrecking Ball").
The second most tweeted VMA moment was Beyoncé's closing performance. Jay Z and his and Bey's daughter, Blue Ivy, presented her with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Baby Blue watched and performed along with her mom, while watching from her dad's lap. Beyoncé's song "Blue" started at No. 29 on the Trending 140, and ended up at No. 1 by midnight.
The Trending 140 chart measures the acceleration of conversation around artists and their music, while the Emerging Artists chart measures the volume of tweets around new artists and their songs.
