Billboard has chosen four artists this week from the real-time Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart who have stood out as a result of newly-released music videos.
Jamie Alexander Treays, more commonly known to his 33,000 Twitter followers as Jamie T, charted on the Emerging Artists chart at No. 4 after debuting the video "Don't You Find" (directed by Joost Vandebrug) on July 15. Jamie T's sound is pop, no doubt -- however, his mellow vocal phrasing techniques provide a unique take on the form. The single is from the album Carry on the Grudge, due Sept. 29.
"Queen" is the first single off Perfume Genius' (a.k.a. Mike Hadreas) third album Too Bright, out Sept. 22. Hadreas moved from Seattle to New York, where he began his career in music and signed to Turnstile, with help from indie band Los Campesinos! On July 17, Perfume Genius' video release for "Queen" helped the track peak at No. 6 on the Emerging Artists chart.
Kansas City's Ces Cru is Ubiquitous and Godemis, who are signed to Tech N9ne's Strange Music label. The rap duo previously charted on the Billboard 200 with Constant Energy Struggles (No. 98, 2013). The music video for "Sound Bite," released July 16, and from the pair's self-titled album Ces Cru, charted at No. 11 on the Emerging Artists tally.
RAC is not only the artist name for producer and multi-instrumentalist Andre Allen Anjos, but it also stands for Remix Artist Collective, of which Anjos is the brainchild. RAC's most recent album Strangers features the upbeat and lighthearted "Cheap Sunglasses." Its video debuted July 10 and the song peaked at No. 8 on the Emerging Artists chart.
