Café Bustelo® talked to some of the biggest names in music at their exclusive artist’s lounge at this weekend’s Billboard Hot 100 Fest at the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, N.Y. The legendary coffee company set up the lounge with a plush leather couch, a record-studded wall, and plenty of great coffee. Musicians could be seen relaxing, grabbing cans of Bustelo® Cool Café con Leche, and chatting with Billboard host Chelsea Briggs.
The Café Bustelo® artist lounge is part of the brand’s successful Café Collabs campaign, where the coffee company is highlighting Latin culture through collaboration and creativity. Here’s what you should know about the artists that Billboard and Café Bustelo® sat down with:
The dynamic duo of Ben "B-Roc" Ruttner and James "JPatt" Patterson made their name producing for big time musicians before going from behind the boards to being onstage. They’re set to release their second full-length album, New York Narcotic, on Sept. 28th.
The Cologne, Germany-born Petras burst onto the scene in 2017 with her single “I Don’t Want It All,” a track that eventually topped the Spotify’s international viral charts. Petras performed her new song “All The Time” during her set at Hot 100, and is excited to produce more “party bops” for her fans all over the world.
Walker is one of the rising stars of EDM, moving to the digital genre after cutting his teeth in the rock scene. That formative experience has influenced his music considerably: He loves working with talented vocalists, a sensibility you can hear throughout his debut EP 24.
Also known as Kelsey Regina Byrne, the singer-songwriter VÉRITÉ is a fiercely independent artist who has built an organic following through sheer force of will. She released her debut album Somewhere in Between—independently, of course—back in 2017.
Made up of the dynamic R&B duo Dante Jones and Drew Love, the Los Angeles-based THEY busted onto the scene in 2015 with their debut EP Nü Religion. They haven’t slowed down since, working with big name dance and hip-hop acts while releasing their debut album Nü Religion: Hyena last year.
The indie pop band from Down Under earned a gold record in 2014 from the Australian Recording Industry Association with their debut album Bombs Away. The band is known for their infectiously catchy hooks and soaring compositions and have toured with a wide variety of artists.
The former frontwoman of Brooklyn-based group the Skins struck out on her own this year to develop a solo act and the early returns have been stunning. BAYLi is equally deft at crafting irresistibly bouncy rhythms as she is writing lyrics that challenge stereotypes and push boundaries. The combination is pure distilled BAYLi.
