Mexican singer/songwriter Sofia Reyes, performed an intimate concert Tuesday night (July 24) at the W Hotel in Bogota, Colombia as part of Billboard and W Hotels’ “Next Up” artist series. The artist’s current single “1, 2, 3,” features Jason Derulo and De La Ghetto and is currently at No. 20 on Billboard's Latin Digital Songs Chart and has been streamed over 440 million times.
Reyes, fresh from performing on Premios Juventud Sunday night alongside Derulo and De La Ghetto, played a six-song set that also included hits like “Llegaste tu” and “Conmigo.”
"The show was super fun and packed,” said Reyes. “I enjoyed performing with my fans in Bogota. I am really grateful for this incredible opportunity with Billboard and W Hotels. I love the fact that they are supporting new artists around the world and promoting cool cities like Bogota."
The 22-year-old bilingual star from Monterrey, who originally signed to Warner Latina on a joint venture with her independent label Bakab and Prince Royce’s label, has had a string of hits in the past two years.
“Many of the artists I admire have been here before me, so I’m so grateful for the support,” said Reyes during her performance. “This is my first time playing in Colombia, so I’m very excited,” added Reyes, who performed with her band and wearing a bright red sweater, suitable for Bogota’s cold nights.
Launched in 2016, the annual “Next Up” series highlights rising artists with intimate performances in W properties around the world. In 2016, the series featured the likes of Gryffin in Washington, D.C., Gallant in Los Angeles, Calif., Skizzy Mars in Minneapolis, Minn. and Bebe Rexha in Seattle, Wash.
Last year, concerts took place in New York (LÉON), Las Vegas (Sofi Tukker) and Chile (Camila Gallardo).
Reyes’ performance marked the first “Next Up” to take place in Colombia.
