Hailee Steinfeld Performs 'Starving' at Billboard Women in Music 2016

Along with hosting Billboard's Women in Music 2016 event, Hailee Steinfeld was also kind enough to perform her current top 20 hit. The singer-actress played a stripped-down version of "Starving" midway through the 2016 ceremony, after being introduced by country star Maren Morris.

"Starving" has become Steinfeld's highest-charting hit to date, although the pop singer offered a more intimate take of the Zedd and Grey collaboration by performing alongside just an acoustic guitar. The resulting applause caused Steinfeld to flash a smile and waggle her shoulder before resuming her hosting duties.

Earlier in the ceremony, Steinfeld called it "a tremendous honor" to serve as host, after being a presenter in 2015. She also nodded to Woman of the Year Madonna, calling her hit "Express Yourself" a "call-to-action for creativity."

Along with her pop career, Steinfeld recently starred in the critically acclaimed film The Edge of Seventeen. Her debut EP, HAIZ, was released in 2015.

Hailee Steinfeld is the host of the 2016 Women in Music gala, headlined by "Woman of the Year" recipient Madonna and "Icon" Shania Twain. Also honored this year are Halsey ("Rising Star"), Andra Day ("Powerhouse"), Meghan Trainor ("Chart Topper"), Maren Morris ("Breakthrough Star"), Kesha ("Trailblazer") and Alessia Cara ("Rule Breaker"). Billboard's Women In Music airs Dec. 12 on Lifetime.
