What's it like to walk a mile in Lance Bass' shoes? His longtime assistant Lisa Delcampo finds out in season 2 of Netflix's The Circle, in which she pretends to be the *NSYNC star for a chance to win $100,000.
For those unfamiliar with the reality competition, eight contestants move in to the same apartment building, though they are confined to their own individual apartments and do not meet face-to-face throughout the season. They use a specially designed social media app to create a profile and communicate with the other contestants, and the app allows them to pretend to be someone else. The contestants "rate" one another, and the lowest rated players are eliminated.
"It was easier than I thought and harder than I thought at the same time," Delcampo tells Billboard of catfishing as Bass. "Being a guy and how guys would message and talk -- that’s so different than what I would do. I use a lot of emojis, and Lance doesn’t use a lot of emojis. That was the hardest part, keeping that in check."
