The Masked Singer is back in full swing after last week’s filler sing-along episode, and The Talk queen Sharon Osbourne is here to collect a check and give panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger some much-needed help in guessing the contestants’ identities.

Let us not forget that the Matriarch of Ozz is the mother of Season 2’s Ladybug. So she’s practically Masked Singer royalty. Anyway, let’s get on with tonight’s Faceoffs. There are four disguised celebrities of varying stature to get through.

Frog vs. Kitty

The first pairing is Frog and Kitty. This season’s vocally-untalented amphibian goes with beloved standard “Fireball” from the Pitbull songbook. Sweet dance moves, Frog, and that moonwalk at the end was a nice touch. But as far as singing goes, just stick with croaking.

The producers are sticking with the “clues in a bag” schtick this week. We see a pair of sneakers, the Japanese flag and an ice cube tray go by on the X-ray monitor. Given the goofball dancing, Sharon thinks fleet-footed Frog is Alfonso Ribeiro. Jenny is leaning more toward rapper Ice Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson Jr.

Next up is Kitty, who sweetly sings Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors.” It seems like a no-brainer that Kitty should win this round, but “no brain” is kind of par for the course with this show, so anything could happen. Kitty’s bag reveals a dragon and a mouse, which has Nicole and Robin thinking the oversized feline is Emma Roberts for one reason or another. Jenny opts for Vanessa Hudgens, while Ken and Sharon are going with Kate Bosworth.

In the end, Frog is voted through to the next round because why not? And so Kitty heads to tonight’s Smackdown.

Banana vs. Rhino

Next up, Banana sits at a piano and belts out the Bob Dylan chestnut “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.” Sharon, who’s spent a fair amount of time around rockers over the years, blurts out that Banana is Poison frontman Bret Michaels before the yellow fruit is even done singing. The contestant’s bag clues, which include a can of bug spray and a cat, seem to support that theory -- especially when Jenny reminds viewers that Bret Michaels underwent a CAT scan after suffering a brain hemorrhage a decade ago.

The final performance of the night comes from Rhino, who treats us to a schmaltzy rendition of Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber’s “10,000 Hours.” Nicole tells the horned crooner, “I always feel like you kinda wear your heart on your sleeve when you perform.” Girl, don’t you say that to every contestant, like every other week?

Rhino’s clues include a Christmas stocking with coal, a seal and a house. Robin and Nicole agree that country singer Sam Hunt might be in the costume, but they’ll have to wait to find out, as it’s Banana who’s voted into the Smackdown.

Smackdown: Kitty vs. Banana

In their final bid to stick around this glorious program for another week, Kitty gives us a bit of Sia’s “Unstoppable,” while Banana goes for the cheese factor with the Commodores' “Brick House.” Alas, cats, as we know, have nine lives, and so Kitty is declared the winner of this round. That means Banana is given the boot.

Guest panelist Sharon Osbourne proves she knows her stuff when the mask comes off to reveal that, sure enough, it’s “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” rocker and reality show veteran Bret Michaels in the long yellow suit.

That means Frog, Kitty and Rhino will join Night Angel, Turtle and Astronaut in next week’s Battle Of The Sixes.
