Lin-Manuel Miranda poses for a portrait to promote the film "Siempre, Luis" at the Music Lodge during the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 25, 2020, in Park City, Utah.

The half-hour primetime special will air Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET across WarnerMedia networks, PBS Kids & streaming platforms.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Anne Hathaway and Tracee Ellis Ross will join Elmo, Grover, Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby for Sesame Street: Elmo's Playdate next week to cheer up families during this uncertain time.

The half-hour primetime special falls under Sesame Street's Caring for Each Other initiative launched last month, which features videos, print-outs and other learning-at-home resources for families to engage their kids in playful and comfortable learning outside of their normal classroom setting.

"We hope Sesame StreetElmo’s Playdate will entertain and inspire families at a moment when so many are feeling isolated and overwhelmed by current events," Steve Youngwood, Sesame Workshop’s president of media & education and COO, said in a press release. "With help from our distribution partners around the world, this special will encourage parents and kids to gather and relax as a family, in a way that only the Sesame Street Muppets can."

The Muppets will sing, dance, bake cookies and learn about EMTs, doctors and other healthcare heroes currently helping out families during the global crisis with the motley crew of celebrity guests. Ross will play a game of "Elmo Says," Miranda will sing a few rounds of "Old McDonald Had a Farm" and Hathaway will groove to "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" with Elmo during the cozy virtual playdate, which some young fans might've already started practicing.

"WarnerMedia recognizes how difficult these isolation efforts are for families, especially ones with children," Bob Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer, said in a press release. "With Sesame Street: Elmo’s Playdate airing simultaneously across our networks, we are confident that this special will bring family members together for a unique in-home viewing experience that will provide laughter, joy and relief during this challenging time."

Sesame Street: Elmo's Playdate will air across WarnerMedia networks (HBO, HBO Latino, TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network, Boomerang and truTV), PBS KIDS 24/7 channel and streaming platforms on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. PBS plans to rerun the primetime special throughout the month, and kids from the U.K., Mexico, Singapore and Canada will be able to tune in the following day on April 15.
