Mark Wahlberg got into a big misunderstanding with his family when he told them "somebody important is coming" to their house.

The actor told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show that he was planning on suprising his four kids with a pomeranian puppy named Champ. "I was not going to get a dog, we were not good with pets," he explained. "And then I finally decided, because it was a very manageable dog, that we would get that dog."

"I told my kids I was going to surprise them, that someone very important was coming to the house," he continued. "Meanwhile, I'm in a meeting with my wife. She barges in the meeting and goes, 'I need to talk to you right now.' Drags me outside and goes, 'Why is Kim Kardashian and Kanye West coming over at dinnertime?'"

Wahlberg was confused, and his wife explained that his kids thought that "if it's somebody important, it has to be them."

Watch him explain it all below, along with showing photos of his adorable new puppy.
