Rose Short Brings 'The Voice' Coaches to Their Feet With a Jesse J Deep Cut

Rose Short on The Voice on Nov. 4, 2019. 

Going into Monday night's (Nov. 4) episode, the majority of The Voice viewers probably didn't know Jesse J's song "Big White Room," a non-single from the British singer/songwriter's 2011 debut album, Who You Are. But they definitely know it now.

Powerhouse Team Gwen vocalist Rose Short opened the episode with her cover of the deep cut, imbuing every lower-register rumble and sky-high power note with emotion and warmth. The performance blew away all the coaches, with John Legend and Kelly Clarkson even prompted to rise to their feet for the rival contestant.  

Another Gwen Stefani competitor, Destiny Rayne, had the misfortune of going head-to-head with Short in the knockout round -- tackling Demi Lovato's "Tell Me You Love Me" -- and when all was said and done, the No Doubt frontwoman opted to move forward with Short.
