Idina Menzel performs on stage during the CMA 2016 Country Christmas on Nov. 8, 2016 in Nashville.

Halloween is over, and it's time to trade in the pumpkin spice for peppermint cheer. The winter holiday season is officially upon us, and Idina Menzel is here to offer up some exciting news.

This year, CBS' 21st annual A Home For The Holidays special will be hosted by Menzel herself on Sunday, Dec. 22. Menzel will be taking the reins not only to host the annual event, but will also be performing a selection of new music off of her new Christmas album, Christmas: A Season of Love.

Menzel won't be alone: CBS also announced that fellow stars Adam Lambert, Ne-Yo and Kelly Rowland will make special appearances throughout the broadcast to give special, holiday-themed performances.

The event serves as both a celebration for the holiday season and, primarily, to raise awareness for adoption and America's foster care system: at the center of this year's special will be a series of documentary-style vignettes, each taking a look at different children who grew up in the foster care system before eventually being adopted into a permanent home.

A Home For The Holidays with Idina Menzel will air on CBS Sunday, Dec. 22 at 9 p.m. ET.
