"She will be very much missed," Al Jean said.
Penny Marshall broke ground in Hollywood with her decades-long career in front of and behind the camera, but she also has a piece of history with the longest running American sitcom on TV: The Simpsons.
Marshall, who died Monday night (Dec. 17) at the age of 75, appeared on the first season of the Fox cartoon in 1990's "Some Enchanted Evening" playing Ms. Botz, aka "The Babysitter Bandit." She gets away with robbing the family because Homer — or as the news puts it, a "local boob" — lets her escape after Bart and Lisa manage to knock her out.
One of the character's most memorable lines is, "You’re going to watch this tape, and you’re going to do what I say or I’m going to do something to you. And I don’t know what that is because everyone has always done what I say!”
