James Corden joined Kiss for a run through the band's legendary 1975 hit “Rock and Roll All Nite” on The Late Late Show on Monday night (Nov. 5). But as it turns out, he has a very different idea of partying than the ageless greasepaint rockers. Corden, wearing his own custom silvery costume and face paint, changed the lyrics of the headbanger to reflect the mundane woes of someone who is getting older and just isn't up for all that late night action.

Kiss’s new fifth member sported a black wig, white face paint and gaudy top to match the rest of the band. Gene Simmons' electric guitar blared as he growled, “You show us everything you’ve got/ You keep on dancin’ and the room gets hot/ You drive us wild/ We’ll drive you crazy.”

Corden cautiously broke into his verse: “More than two drinks is a big mistake/ Can’t fall asleep and get the worst headache/ I got work tomorrow/ Let’s not get crazy.”

The rockers took none of Corden's excuses. They jammed together, “I wanna rock and roll all night/ And party every day,” as Corden marveled at the pyrotechnics and lights, temporarily giving in to the excitement all around.

But Corden couldn't help stressing all the things his middle-aged self finds fun, including reading on the toilet, watching Ken Burns documentaries and golfing. Despite this, Kiss kept rocking to the end, even when Corden complained that they needed to keep the noise down.

Kiss embarks on their farewell tour Jan. 31 in Vancouver, Canada, and will keep the fun firing through Dec. 3, 2019, in Auckland, New Zealand.
