Courtney Barnett played “Crippling Self-Doubt and a General Lack of Confidence” from her album Tell Me How You Really Feel on Seth Meyers Monday night (Oct. 22).

The 30-year-old singer, known for her deadpan vocals and quirky lyrics, effectively channeled a ’90s rock band sound throughout the performance. “Yeah they say whoever pays/ The piper calls the tune/ Oh, let's avoid the truth/ Make you all feel special,” she sang while strumming her left-handed guitar, which matched the stage lights.

“I don't know, I don't know anything/ I don't owe, I don't owe anything,” Barnett continued, then broke into a brief guitar solo that acted as a bridge, giving it her all.
