Fran Drescher is following through with her idea to work with Cardi B on a potential reboot of her 90’s sitcom The Nanny, as she revealed to ExtraTV on Monday (Oct. 15).

“[I’m] talking to her representation,” Drescher said. “It’s really getting me excited. It’s fresh and could be super fun.”

The 61-year-old star has previously expressed her interest in casting Cardi as her daughter in a potential Nanny revival, after the rapper posted an Instagram paying homage to Drescher’s iconic style.

“She’s got a funny voice, too,” Drescher continued. “What kind of a great mother/daughter duo would we be? Amazing, I think.”

While Drescher remains enthusiastic about a possible reboot of The Nanny, television networks have not yet picked up the show, which is now celebrating its 25th anniversary, as a confirmed project.

Billboard has reached out for comment.
