Logic and Joseph Gordon-Levitt

If you've ever dreamed of having your work featured in a Logic video, now's your chance.

Logic will work with people around the world to create an original song and video through a one-of-a-kind collaborative project hosted on Joseph Gordon-Levitt's creative platform hitRECord. The entire process will be documented and aired as a YouTube special in 2019.

So how does it all begin? The 28-year-old rapper put out an open invitation for musicians, vocalists and lyric-writers to add to the start of a song he’s shared on hitRECord’s website. He will recruit his favorite creators to continue with the project.

The YouTube special will explore every step of the process and conclude with the premiere of the song’s collaborative music video. Artists whose work ends up in the final song or video will be compensated for their contributions.

“A lot of creativity on the internet feels like a popularity contest, but this is about people coming together to make something they might not have been able to make on their own,” said Gordon-Levitt. “Logic is the ideal guy to lead a collaborative process like this. I mean the name of his record is Everybody.”

hitRECord's website currently features four open challenges in what is considered the concept phase: writing, music, cinematography and video Q&As. The website states as of Monday (Oct. 8) that these challenges will remain open for 14 more days.
