Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets performs “Tokyo Bay” on Conan on Oct. 1, 2018.

Los Straitjackets joined Nick Lowe onstage to perform his surf-rock song “Tokyo Bay” on Conan Monday night (Oct. 1).

Los Straitjackets, the instrumental rock band who famously wear Mexican wrestling masks coupled with suits, backed Lowe for “Tokyo Bay,” evoking the surf culture of the early '60s with their reverberating electric guitars.

“Tokyo Bay” is a track from Lowe’s latest EP Tokyo Bay/Crying Inside, released in June by the U.K. singer best known for his 1979 Top 40 single “Cruel to Be Kind.”

The surf-rock revival band is no stranger to Lowe’s music, having released What’s So Funny About Peace, Love And…, a tribute to the music of Nick Lowe in 2017.
