Josh Groban Delivers Powerhouse Performance Of 'River' On 'James Corden'
The singer also joined host James Corden and GOT's Sophie Turner for a funny rendition of YouTube hit 'Baby Shark.'
Josh Groban stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden on Wednesday (Sept. 26) for a night filled with all sorts of singing, from his powerful performance of gospel-inspired track "River" to an eccentric rendition of viral YouTube hit "Baby Shark" alongside Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner and host James Corden.
Performing "River" from his eighth studio album Bridges -- Groban's first album of original music since 2013 All that Echoes -- the singer got raw and real, showing off his well-known tenor.
The piano ballad explores Groban's relationship with nature, which has turned into his safe place. "So I walk down to the river/Where the troubles can't find me/Let the waters remind me/The sun will be there when we wake," he sang, accompanied by equally gifted backup singers.
Later in the show, Groban joined Corden and Turner to transform the viral "Baby Shark" into a quite sensual, adult ballad with a gospel touch -- all backed up with some dancers in shark heads and evening wear.
