Peculiarities seem to be Fred Armisen's thing. From very specific musician jokes to a monster-outfit tradition at the Emmy Awards, the Forever star is always focusing his brand on the eccentricities that surround him and make him such a distinct comedian.

During his visit to Conan on Wednesday (Sept. 19), Armisen shared a few jokes from his January Netflix special Standup For Drummers, in which he makes observations and jokes that only drummers can appreciate. As he pulled out a drum cymbal to reinterpret some of the acts, he asked, "Are there any drummers in the audience?" When a few people screamed in support, Armisen showed excitement and relief. "You're making three people happy," host Conan O'Brien laughed.

The comedian then picked up his guitar to follow up with more "musicians-only" jokes. Pointing out how he hates when he goes to a show and a political band starts rambling, Armisen did a funny impression of how the guitar player acts when the lead singer goes on a rant mid-song.

Conan then brought up Armisen's tradition of making things interesting at the Emmys by cleverly embracing a different monster to his outfit every year. "It's very subtle. Like I'm a formal Freddy Krueger,'' Armisen noted of his 2015 costume, which included a red and white tie and Krueger's hands.

For this year's event, Conan went with vampire fangs and a Dracula-inspired tie. “These are the least frightening monsters I’ve ever seen. These are monsters that you see at the mall and they are fine,” Conan scoffed.
