Makayla Phillips also wowed the audience with a powerful 'Who You Are.'

As season 13 of America’s Got Talent steams towards its finale, the semi-finalists gave everything they had to make it to the next round and get closer to the $1 million prize on Tuesday night (Sept. 4).

Of all the acts who performed, folk-rock couple Us the Duo once again stole the crowd’s heart performing with the original song “Broke." Singing about struggling to pay the bills, the expectant pair looked radiant as they sweetly chanted the lyrics to their latest potential pop rock hit.

Opening the show on a high note, singer Amanda Mena delivered a stunning version of Pharell’s “Happy” as the 15-year-old put a soulful twist to the R&B song while getting closer to her American Dream.

Heidi Klum’s protege Makayla Phillips also returned to the stage with a powerful performance of “Who You Are”  by Jessie J. In the beautiful cover, the teen star delivered a high-pitched, emotional rendition as she sang at the top of her lungs for a spot in the finals.

Other notable performances included magician Shin Lin bending reality with his smoking-hot card magic tracks, comedian Samuel J. Comroe telling a hilarious story about a woman who tried to pray away his Tourette Syndrome and Duo Transcend’s mind-blowing performance while engulfed in flames.

Other talented semi-finalists -- multi-media artists Front Pictures, dance group Junior New System, singer Michael Letterer, children’s choir Voices of Hope and acrobatic dance group Zurcaroh -- also rocked dazzling performances in the fight for a spot on the two-night finale airing on Sept. 18. Other semi-finalists include Daniel Emmet, Brian King Joseph, Aaron Crow, Christina Wells and Michael Ketterer.

As with the quarterfinals, the four judges are no longer in full charge of decisions during the semifinals -- three of the five acts that make it through the last round will do so based on the viewer's votes.
