This week on America's Got Talent, We Three, Angel City Chorale, Courtney Hadwin, and Amanda Mena made the semifinals, while other talented acts reached the end of their time on the show in Wednesday's (Aug. 15) voter results episode.

Twelve of the remaining thirty-six acts performed in the first of three quarterfinal episodes, with the hopes of winning the million dollar prize.

Courtney Hardwin, the Janis Joplin-esque teen from across the pond, was in the advancing group, despite receiving online criticism after fans discovered she had more experience than the show had previously let on. Hardwin was up for elimination against fellow teen Amanda Mena, but in a twist, both young stars made the cut.

"I’m so thankful that both of you are going through the next round, I called it!" Judge Mel B said in encouragement. "I said to Howie, ‘They both have to go through,’ because both of you are equally talented."

Comedian Vicki Barbolak advanced to the next round over Human Fountains, the group of five childhood friends who entertained by...spitting from their mouths in sync. Simon Cowell dubbed the group the "most stupid act we've ever had."

Singers We Three, magician Shin Lim, Angel City Choral, and the Junior New System dancers will also move on to the semis.

Eliminations were delivered to hopefuls Mochi, the PAC dancers, Lord Nil, and teen rapper Flau'jae, who caught America's attention early on.

America‘s Got Talent airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays (8:00 p.m. ET) on NBC.
