Following Ruby Rose's casting as Batwoman for an upcoming CW television series, Taylor Swift took to her Instagram stories to congratulate the actress on the exciting news. Using a photo from a Variety news story, Swift wrote "YES @rubyrose !!" and "So excited for you, you're gonna be amazing!" on Wednesday (Aug. 15).

Rose spoke to Jimmy Fallon about the role last week on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and teared up while discussing what it means to her. "I feel like the reason I got so emotional is that growing up, watching TV, I never saw someone on TV that I could identify with, let alone a superhero, you know?"

While Rose's casting is set to make her the first LGBTQ lead in a superhero series, backlash from the news caused Rose to delete her Twitter.
