Charlamagne tha God on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on April 16, 2018.

Charlamagne tha God stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Monday (Apr. 16) to chat with the late night host about civil rights issues in the era of Trump and Charlamagne's recent book, Black Privilege.

"I think [Trump's presidency] is great for, like, a prison sentence, you know what I'm saying?" Charlamagne explained to a cackling audience. "Other than that, I think it's pretty good."

The Guy Code star continued: "If you wanna look at the bright side, at least you always got content. It's very entertaining...I can't tell if we're in a reality show or if this is real life. I really don't know."

When Colbert speculated the era of Trump might just be a simulation, Charlamagne expanded on the theory.

"I've been having those conversations with people that think we're in one big Sim game," he said. "Like there's something up there that's directing us all, and you gotta make the right choices in life in order to get to the next level. So I don't think we're gonna get to the next level because clearly, we made a poor choice, and it's number 45 in the White House right now."

Charlamagne and Colbert, who both hail from South Carolina, also discussed the forthcoming International African American Museum being built in Charleston, and how women and minorities have stood up for themselves and made progress under the Trump administration.

"I feel like people are realizing we gotta depend more on each other," Charlamagne discussed. "It's a good thing just gotta make sure you're on the right team."
