It's official: James Van Der Beek and Diplo are buddies.

At least, that's what Van Der Beek confirmed on Tuesday's episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. The Dawson's Creek actor is playing the famed DJ on Viceland's first scripted TV series, What Would Diplo Do?, but it appears their relationship extends beyond the professional sphere.

"He taught me a little bit how to DJ," Van Der Beek said. "I know just enough to be annoying to real DJs."

But Van Der Beek revealed more than just his relationship with Diplo on the show: When Cohen began asking the actor questions about Dawson's Creek during a segment called "I Don't Wanna Wait," Van Der Beek revealed he didn't know that character Jen -- played by now-Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams -- had died of a heart condition in the series finale.

"Wait a minute, they gave her a heart condition?" Van Der Beek laughed. "Did they really?"

When pressed further if he supported that story line, Van Der Beek shook his head and said, "I don't remember."
