Ryan Seacrest announced Thursday (July 20) that he's officially returning to his American Idol host gig when the beloved singing competition returns via ABC next year. And with Katy Perry locked in as a judge for the reboot, things are slowly but surely coming together -- especially now that one of the show's most familiar faces is returning.

But even though Perry will have an Idol veteran to help her get accustomed to her judge role, the "Chained to the Rhythm" singer can't carry the panel on her own. As soon as she signed on in May, rumors began swirling about who would fill the rest of the judge chairs on the new-and-improved Idol. TMZ reported that Lionel Richie and Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx were in talks, but seemingly neither have yet to be confirmed.

As for Idol alums, Season 5 finalist Chris Daughtry has been the most-talked-about, and there have also been reports that Season 4 winner (and most successful alum) Carrie Underwood has also been approached for the position. Another winner, Taylor Hicks, has expressed that he feels a winner should be part of the panel, and that he'd definitely be on board if producers asked him.

Regardless of what's been reported, though, we feel it's important for the fans to have a voice -- who do you want to see sit beside Perry when American Idol makes its return?

Take a look at our choices below, and pick your top two for who'd make the best Idol judges.
