Rihanna's Marion Crane Finally Has Her Shower Scene In 'Bates Motel': Watch
Warning: There are spoilers from Episode 6 of Bates Motel in this post.
Monday night (March 27), viewers of the fifth and final season of A&E's Bates Motel got to see the series' most high profile guest star, Rihanna, in a much more revealing light. Rihanna's guest turn as a modern-day Marion Crane (the ill-fated hotel guest in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho) marked the second episode in which the singer appeared. Unlike the previous week, Rihanna was noticeably absent from drunk livestreaming the appropriately titled sixth episode "Marion" -- perhaps that was because her character was headed for the famous Psycho shower scene?
After stealing a brief case of $400,000 entrusted to her by her boss, Marion Crane finds herself as the latest runaway guest at the desolate motel owned by Norman Bates (played by Freddie Highmore). During her first night, Marion quickly finds out that her "boyfriend," Sam (Austin Nichols) is in fact married, and won't be coming to join her at the motel anytime soon. After disclosing the new heartbreak to Norman -- who at this point has developed an attraction for the damsel in distress -- Marion jumps into the shower.
This is where it all ends, right? The camera starts to zoom in on the shower curtain as the horror music grows louder. A peeping Norman finally seizes the all-important opportunity from Psycho to stab Marion in the shower... well, not exactly.
Although Rihanna strips down for the shower scene, her character makes it out alive after pulling back the curtain (in Bad Gal RiRi fashion) to deliver the line "screw this s--t!" Marion then proceeds to pay Sam's cars a visit a la Jazmine Sullivan's "Bust Your Windows." All in that same night, she returns to Bates Motel, just to be instructed by her potential murderer to leave for her safety, which she does -- leaving it unclear if the singer will return back in future episodes or if she's indeed safe forever.
