Maroon 5 Super Bowl Halftime News Has Twitter Asking Why an Atlanta Artist Wasn't Chosen

"Atlanta, home of Outkast, T.I., Future, Ludacris, Usher, etc., gets Maroon 5 to play the damn Super Bowl."

After news broke Wednesday (Sept. 19) that Maroon 5 would headline the halftime show at Super Bowl LIII, Twitter had some strong opinions about the choice.

For the first time in 19 years, the Super Bowl will be held in Atlanta -- a hotbed of musical talent, including Outkast, Migos, T.I., Usher and more prominent artists. Hopeful that Super Bowl Sunday would shed a positive light on the ATL by showcasing some of the city's vibrant music culture, fans were disappointed to hear that LA pop-rockers Maroon 5 got the call instead.

"Now if you REALLY wanna get mad... Imagine Maroon 5 takes the Super Bowl Halftime Show stage and does nothing but Migos, T.I. and Outkast covers," suggested one tweet.
