Super Bowl 50 kicked off in formal fashion as the Armed Forces Chorus treated all in attendance to a solemn rendition of "America the Beautiful."

Comprised of choir members from numerous divisions of the US Army, Navy and Air Force, the song and drum procession spotlighted members of the Joint Service Color Guard and US Forces who served in Afghanistan.

"America the Beautiful" has been sung by a diverse range of performers in recent years, including John Legend last year and Jennifer Hudson with students from Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2013.
