5 Seconds of Summer, Super Junior, Carly Rae Jepsen & PVRIS: Real-Time Twitter Chart Rewind Ep. 59

Welcome back to Billboard's weekly video show "Real-Time Rewind," which recaps the past week's hottest action on the Billboard Real-Time Twitter Charts -- Trending 140 and Emerging Artists -- and the news that's driving the action. Emily White is in the studio for episode 59, which features 5 Seconds of Summer, Super Junior, Carly Rae Jepsen and PVRIS.

So what was happening on the Real-Time Charts this week?

Give Me '5': 5 Seconds of Summer were in double trouble, as the group blasted to No. 1 on the Trending 140 twice this week. The group's "She’s Kinda Hot," the lead single from their upcoming sophomore album, ruled the chart for multiple hours, but the pop-punk pranksters weren't done there. The quartet also reached the top with "Everything I Didn't Say" after lead guitarist Michael Clifford spotted a fan leaving the arena (presumably to get a hot dog) during a recent tour stop in Irvine, California. 5SOS composed an impromptu track about hot dogs.

The band seems to have a liking for food-themed songs, given that their track "Pizza" was a record store day cassette exclusive cut.

"Devil" in Disguise: Super Junior joins the list of acts who scored major gains on the Trending 140 this week. The nine-member ensemble's new release, "Devil," reached and stayed at No. 1 for nearly seven hour. The track's fortunes were no doubt helped by its music video (released July 15); it's a theatrical clip featuring a woman who has sprouted a devil tail. Hot. "Devil" is the title track from the group's ninth album, which celebrates their 10-year anniversary as a group.

Run Away with Carly Rae: As Carly Rae Jepsen prepares for her Emotion album, the singer dropped the second official single "Run Away With Me" and its accompanying music video last Friday, July 17. Jepsen debuted the clip on NBC's Today. The video sees the singer jet-setting around the world on a whimsical global adventure.

"Run Away With Me" spent 2 hours atop the Trending 140, and is the singer's third song in a row to seize the top spot. "I Really Like You" and "All That" climbed to the top earlier this year. Emotion is due Aug. 21.

PVRIS is on "Fire": Lastly, Boston-based rock band PVRIS (pronounced "Paris") continues to score hits on the Emerging Artists chart with tracks from their 2013 debut album, White Noise. The album cuts "Fire" and "Holy" climbed to No. 1 on the Trending 140 after their respective music videos surfaced. The group is currently playing select dates on the Vans Warped Tour until Aug. 8.

The Trending 140 chart measures the acceleration of conversation around artists and their music, while the Emerging Artists chart measures the volume of tweets around new artists and their songs.
