Big Sean, Sam Smith & Hozier: Real-Time Twitter Chart Rewind Ep. 35

Welcome back to Billboard's weekly video show "Real-Time Rewind," which recaps the past week's hottest action on the new Billboard Real-Time Twitter Charts --Trending 140 and Emerging Artists -- and the news that's driving the action. Joe Levy talks Grammys at Z100 Jingle Ball in Episode 35, and recaps chart moves by Hozier, Big Sean and Sam Smith.

So what was happening on the Real-Time Charts this week?

It's the week before the Grammys. Levy takes us back to when he asked Ryan Tedder, Shawn Mendes, Ansel Elgort, and Sam Smith for their Grammys Album of the Year predictions at 2014's Z100 Jingle Ball.

As for this week on the charts, Grammy-nominated Hozier went to No. 3 on the Trending 140 this week with a cover of Ariana Grande's "Problem," which earned social buzz after he performed it on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge program. Big Sean also tops the chart with his new single "Blessings" on Jan. 30 from his forthcoming album, Dark Sky Paradise

The Trending 140 chart measures the acceleration of conversation around artists and their music, while the Emerging Artists chart measures the volume of tweets around new artists and their songs.
