Demi Lovato appeared during the 2020 GLAAD Media Awards livestream on Thursday (July 30) to offer some heartfelt words of support to the LGBTQ community -- trans youth, in particular. "I specifically want to remind trans youth that you matter. I know things are crazy hard right now, and you may not have your usual support system around you... but don’t let anyone, especially our government, fool you into thinking you are anything less than perfect and meant to be," Lovato said. "Be proud of who you are, keep your voices loud and strong, and know that we’re out here fighting for you."
Noting the "outrageous discrimination" faced by trans people of color in America, Lovato introduced one of that community's fiercest voices -- Shea Diamond. The stunner singer and her socially distanced band banged out the celebratory anthem "I Am America," which is the theme song for HBO's We're Here and one of our favorite LGBTQ songs of the year.
