Every prom needs a down-tempo song to sway to, and Noah Cyrus is here to get you slow dancing.

On Saturday night (June 13), Cyrus appeared at Billboard & The Hollywood Reporter's Pride Prom to offer a stripped down performance of her song "July" as the signature ballad of the evening's festivities.

In her video, Cyrus is seen sitting in her bed clad in her pajama pants and a sweatshirt, singing about a pre-pandemic time when she could "pack my bags, get on the road" and leave her house. "Find someone that loves you better than I do, darling, I know/ 'Cause you remind me every day, I'm not enough, but I still stay," she sings.

While "July" sounds like a particularly sad song, Cyrus told Billboard earlier this year that the track actually marked a healthy turning point for her following a nasty breakup. "I went home and I finally got out all the words that I never got to really say about the relationship," she said. "That song kind of started a whole new chapter of my life for me, which is what drove me to want to write an EP."
