When it comes to coming out stories, YouTube star Lele Pons' father has a particularly interesting one.

In the latest episode of her new YouTube documentary series The Secret Life of Lele Pons, the 23-year-old influencer revealed that her dad is gay, something that she found out early on in her life. "It was hard for me at first," she revealed in the video posted May 26. "It was hard because I was repeating him saying he was gay until it sounded right in my head."

The moment Pons said she found out about her dad's sexuality actually came when she was 10 years old, as she accidentally walked in on him "sleeping with a man" at home. "That for me was, like, 'Oh, my God, I can't believe it. Like, I saw, my dad,'" she shared. "And that was very traumatizing, because I didn't have to see that so vividly."

Pons said that part of the reason dealing with her father's coming out was so difficult for her was because she accidentally outed her father to her Catholic school classmates in an OCD-related exclamation.

"Impulsivity is a huge part of OCD," she explained. "When I found out that my dad was gay, I said it during a presentation in my class. And everybody was, like, 'This has nothing to do with what's going on.' And the teacher was very Catholic, she was, like, 'Come here.'"

But at the end of the day, Pons said that her relationship with her father has only grown stronger. "When my dad told me he was gay, it was a surprise, but I didn't judge him," she said. "I tried so hard to understand him, and eventually I did. I said, 'OK, you're gay. I want to understand how you feel and what made you decide to marry my mom and what made you decide to tell me now.' I just wanted to understand everything."
