Just last month, the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles and Alex Newell made headlines by paying homage to a true gay icon: Laura Dern. During the Film Independent Spirit Awards in early February, the choir sang a song dedicated to "the gayest moments in other films that you may not have realized were gay," which ended in a hilarious ode to the Marriage Story actress.

Now, the chorus is ready to give the song new life. On Friday, the Gay Men's Chorus released their second official dance remix of the track, courtesy of producers The Perry Twins, Quinn Coleman and Greg O'Connor. Titled "Gay Spirit (Laura Dern)," the initial "Club Mix" of the song only features the choir chanting Dern's name, as the backing beat picks up steam, with heavy bass and loud synths permeating the track as Alex Newell riffs his heart out to Laura Dern's name.

In the second mix, the entire original song is played, featuring other hilarious references to films from 2019 like Marriage Story, Uncut Gems, Parasite and more, all while undercut by a 2000's rave-style beat. Unlike the original track, though, the "Laura Dern" breakdown takes up more than half of the song, as the choir and Newell give praise to the actress over an electrifying beat.
