Billy Porter Gets Surprised With a Star-Studded Lip Sync to His Song 'Love Yourself': Watch

It's been a big year for Billy Porter. Along with earning an Emmy for his portrayal of Pray Tell on FX's Pose, the star got back in to music, landed a role in the upcoming Sony Cinderella remake, and slayed every single red carpet he walked on to

In honor of his massive years, Porter's friends and collaborators put together a special message of love for him. On Friday (Dec. 20), Porter released a new lip-sync video of his Billboard Dance Club chart-topping song "Love Yourself," featuring a stunning number of celebrity cameos. 

Opening with TV host Kelly Ripa stating that "The category is ... 'Love Yourself,'" the video proceeds to show dozens of stars lip syncing along to Porter's track, including Cyndi Lauper, Debra Messing, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Patina Miller, Nathan Lee Graham, Miss J, Peppermint, and designer Christian Siriano. A number of Porter's frequent colalborators also made appearances, incluidng his Pose co-stars MJ Rodriguez, Ryan Jamal Swain, Dyllón Burnside, Jeremy McClain, and Jason A. Rodriguez; the cast and creatives behind his Broadway hit Kinky Boots including Jerry Mitchell, Stark Sands, Annaleigh Ashford, Lena Hall, and the Ogunquit Playhouse cast of the smash hit musical; plus an appearance from the Broadway cast of Ain’t Too Proud.

In a statement released with the video, Porter thanked his friends for surprising him with such a sweet video.  “Wow ... my heart just skipped a beat,” he said. “What a gift it is to be celebrated by my peers and afforded a moment for me to reflect. I don’t get a lot of time to do that ... how blessed I feel to have lived long enough to see this day. Thank you everybody! Thank you for listening! The category is...LOVE.”
