RuPaul in AJ and the Queen.

We get to see quite a bit of RuPaul these days. Whether on all the varying versions of Drag Race, with the UK spinoff recently wrapping up its first season, or in recent guest appearances on shows like Grace and Frankie and even The Simpsons, the queen of queens is booked and busy. But with her newest project, Mama Ru is giving us an even closer look at her talent as an actor.

On Wednesday (Dec. 4), Netflix dropped the first full-length trailer for AJ and the Queen, the upcoming new series starring RuPaul herself. In the trailer, we finally get to see some of the plot unfold first-hand: RuPaul's Robert, better known as his drag persona Ruby Red, is about to open up his very own nightclub when a jealous ex-boyfriend (Josh Segarra) steals his money, forcing him to perform in a cross-country tour to earn back what he lost.

The plan goes awry when a 10-year-old stowaway named AJ (Izzy G.) is found lurking in the RV. Robert, unhappy, declares "unless you're a pair of fake boobs, you really don't belong in the back of my RV." However, as the trailer continues, we see the wise-cracking child and the bitter queen form a bond, as Robert finds someone to teach about love and self-acceptance. "Do you think if Robert was strong enough, there would even be a need for a Ruby?" he ponders. "Ruby saves Robert."

Along with getting to finally see some new footage from the long-awaited series, Drag Race fans got to see their fair share of queens from the show making some excellent cameos. Past contestants like Latrice Royale, Bianca del Rio, Valentina, Trinity the Tuck and many more breifly appear all throughout the trailer.
