When Charli XCX dropped her new music video for "2099" on Tuesday (Sept. 17), fans immediately took notice of a series of high-flying jet ski stunts being seemingly performed throughout the video by Troye Sivan. With flips, twists and spins happening in the background of the video, fans began to poke fun at the pop singer when he insinuated that he was the one grabbing wicked air. "Your stunt double is so talented," one fan wrote.

Now, Sivan is making his case... sort of. On Wednesday (Sept. 18), the singer posted a behind-the-scenes video where he is seen being interviewed about learning how to do his crazy flips. "I started training a couple of weeks ago for the jet ski tricks, and it was way harder than I thought it was gonna be at first," he says, as clips played, appearing to show Sivan practicing his moves. "But then, once you get the hang of it, it's... not that hard."

Just as viewers of the video are starting to be convinced, though, a professional jet-skier drives behind Sivan, prompting his interviewer to point out "that's not you." With a look of faux frustration, the star shifts over to block the view, saying "Don't get him in the camera."

As Sivan continues his sarcastic flexing (including saying that Charli was "completely useless" throughout the training process), the interviewer continues showing his stunt double, prompting Troye to shut down the video. "Stop asking questions about it!" he exclaims.
