Cher Shows Support for LGBTQ Community on Stonewall Anniversary: 'I'm Beaming With Pride'

Friday (June 28) marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, and many LGBTQ celebrities and allies have taken to social media to celebrate Pride.   

Cher, a longtime supporter of the LGBTQ community, took to Twitter to post a heartfelt message. "Can’t Believe It’s 50 YRS SINCE STONEWALL," she wrote. "Don’t Have Anything Witty Or Smart 2 Say..actually I’m in tears writing this." 

"U HAVE FOUGHT SO LONG,BEEN SO STRONG,IM BEAMING WITH PRIDE," she continued. "WE HAVE HAD EACH OTHERS BACKS SINCE I WAS 9.WE WILL CONTINUE 2 WALK THE ROAD 2GETHER."
