On Thursday night, RuPaul’s Drag Race came to a stunning conclusion as A’Keria C. Davenport, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, Brooke Lynn Hytes and Yvie Oddly fought it out for the crown in a lip sync battle royale. But in the end, only one queen could emerge victorious, and that queen was Yvie Oddly.
Headed into the finale, the odds were not necessarily in Yvie’s favor — while the star had proven herself a worthy competitor and an expert lip sync artist, Yvie had the fewest wins of the queens in the finale, with only one main challenge win under her belt.
Yvie wasn’t the only queen who walked away victorious on Thursday. Nina West, who RuPaul has dubbed “the pride of season 11” received season 11’s Miss Congeniality award, which entails a $10,000 cash prize. After being rewarded for her kind disposition, Nina remarked “Kindness is king and love leads the way, and I cannot thank you guys enough for this.”
