Tegan and Sara have spent the last two decades working as activists for LGBTQ and women’s rights. In 2016, their activism led to the creation of the Tegan and Sara Foundation, an advocacy organization dedicated to “fighting for economic justice, health and representation for LGBTQ girls and women.”

Now, the duo have teamed up with Teva Footwear to raise money for their cause. The company announced on Wednesday (May 22) the release of their new Flatform Universal Pride sandals in honor of Pride month. The flatform sandals bear the typical Teva-style straps, but now with a rainbow-striped platform underneath. For each pair of sandals sold, Teva pledged to donate $15 to the Tegan and Sara Foundation.

In a video announcement, Tegan and Sara said that they were excited to use the money raised to fund scholarships that will help send more LGBTQ youth to queer-centric summer camps this summer. “They look like this, and they go this way, and you put them on your foot,” Sara joked, before Tegan offered to just show fans their new sandals.

This isn’t the only Pride-themed event benefiting the Tegan and Sara Foundation — this year will mark the third annual LoveLoud festival, hosted and organized by Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds, and benefitting the Tegan and Sara Foundation amongst various other LGBTQ organizations. Last year’s festival raised over $1 million for LGBTQ organizations.
