Lord F

Brazilian-born pop singer Lord F wants to do something about mental health issues in the LGBTQ community. So along with writing a new song about it, he’s putting his money where is singing voice is.

On Thursday (April 4), Lord F released his brand-new single “Timing,” a thumping pop track that the star describes as “a cross between Depeche Mode and The Pet Shop Boys with a contemporary 2019 pop approach,” about coming to terms with your inner-demons.

Along with bringing awareness to the struggles of mental health through his song, the singer is using his new track as a source for good: All proceeds from the track are set to directly benefit the Los Angeles LGBT Center and the London LGBTQ Community Centre. “I want to take my personal life struggles that helped me write this song and give all proceeds back to my community,” he says.

In an exclusive statement to Billboard, Lord F says that growing up as a gay man in Brazil, he faced bullying on a regular basis, which led to a decline in his mental state. “I suffered from severe bullying my entire school life, which held me back from being my truest self,” he says. “I was fortunate and patient enough to wait to live the life I’ve always dreamed of, and that came simply from allowing myself to finally be my true self. Things will get better, trust the timing of your life and know that everything we go through happens to make us stronger.”
