Chatting with DeGeneres, the 21-year-old singer opened up about why he left the music industry, saying that he felt burnt out at age 18. “I was creatively exhausted, and a bit beat down too,” he told the host.
Then, DeGeneres asked about Chance’s public coming out in 2017, where the star revealed he was gay in an Instagram post. Chance told the host that while he had already been out to his family, he decided to come out thanks to a fan who sent him a message online.
